Director of Engaging Schools

Farewell to Susan Timmerman & Welcoming Ken Norman!

Susan has led the way working part-time as the Director of Engaging Schools for the past year and a half. Susan has been instrumental in creating a strong Engaging Schools model serving the Bloomington District. As the position’s role expanded to full-time, Susan’s other life demands led her to focus on family.

Please join us in welcoming Ken Norman as the full-time Director of Engaging Schools!
Ken is passionate about serving schools and faith communities. He has his Master’s Degree in Education and has served as the Principal of Chapel Hill Academy, Director of Vienna Christian Schools in Austria, and most recently the Executive Director of Love, Inc. Ken’s top strength is building relationships in the community to help all thrive. Ken started on June 18th and can be reached at ken@upworksmn.org or 651-756-7851.

Expanding Our Network of Nonprofit Partners

Over the past three months, UpWorks and Salvation Army have been exploring possibilities to serve participants of the Adult Rehabilitation Center. We are excited to announce Salvation Army is officially a partner. Details have been finalized with the leadership of Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center. A pilot will be launched in June 2018 to serve a targeted group of men currently enrolled in the ARC. In addition, UpWorks met with the regional offices of Salvation Army’s Volunteer coordination. The regional office has agreed to transition up to 10 volunteers to UpWorks in support of the arrangement with the ARC.
If you know of a potential partner organization please email us at info@upworksmn.org or call 651.756.7851.
